WATER, COLOR, PLAY
Created in a very liquid state, particles of pigment suspended in water move uninterrupted like mini tsunamis across the paper. They become tide-swept sands, a spring bloom, a surprising event in nature. Gravity and surface tension act as primary propellants in my paintings which are made in watercolor. Evaporation sets the particles to the paper, ordaining their final resting place. This process leaves no sign of my hand or the brush on the finished piece. They are organic, independently alive with a considered composition.
